Layma Vaykule

LAIMA VAYKULE whose songs are very popular in many countries where Russian-speaking citizens live - this is a well-known in-demand singer, who is also engaged in acting. Laima Vaikule, Wikipedia informs us, was officially recognized as the People's Artist of Latvia, and these are far from all of her achievements in her entire career. Upon reaching the age of 12, Lyme gave a concert on stage for the first time, becoming one of the young vocalists in the house of culture. After she completed her secondary education, she managed to enter medical school. When the girl turned 15, after passing the competition, she became the vocalist of the orchestra in Riga.
On the onset of 84, he enters the GITIS directing department. In addition to contemporary compositions and foreign repertoire, together with the "Laima" ensemble, she demonstrated to the public the tracks in Latin.
Later, the artist was noticed by the not little-known songwriter-poet Reznik Ilya. From him followed an offer to record on the radio another composition called "Night Fire". They began to listen to Laima not only on the radio, but also shown on television in the program "Song-86".
In the 86th, together with Leontiev, she performed at a concert, performing the newly minted single "Vernissage". In the 87th Vaikul writes down another track, offering his own unique interpretation.
In the same year, Laima is a participant in Pauls's author's evening. After the performance began to broadcast on television, she became incredibly popular.
In May, the girl receives the Czechoslovakian Golden Lyre award for the song "Vernissage", thanks to which she became even more famous.
In parallel with the educational process in directing, Laima is preparing a solo program, which she will present in the 88th year. This program has clearly shown that the singer can perform both comic and lyrical characters.
Vaikule is the founder-organizer of the competition for young pop song performers "Jurmala".
She has recorded several of the most popular music collections, the sale of which broke all records. More than 20 million discs have been sold not only in the Russian Federation, but also in America and Europe.
She has given concerts numerous times in Japan, America, Russia and European countries.
Laima is constantly invited to the New Wave music festival. It took place in Latvia. Holiday concerts and television, as well as radio stations were also pleased to cooperate with her.
Not without Laima and at the KVN festival, which is held in Jurmala every year. She acts there as a member of the jury.

Her actual husband is Andrei Latkovsky - a producer, in the past he played the bass guitar. She met him in 1970, and since 78, they are officially considered husband and wife. The couple have no children.
Also Lyme is an animal rights activist, she does not eat meat.
